Schuette, Bouchard Join to Endorse Moolenaar; Clear Choice for Congress
FRANKENMUTH, MI - John Moolenaar was joined by Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette, former State Representative Ken Horn and Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard today in Frankenmuth. Sheriff Bouchard announced his endorsement of John Moolenaar for Congress. Schuette and Horn previously announced their endorsements.
“The choice in this race is clear. John Moolenaar is a proven conservative with a 100% conservative rating on the recent Michigan Tea Party News scorecard and a leader in the state on conservative issues. Meanwhile, his opponent has worked to elect Democrats, contributing hundreds to liberal Senator Debbie Stabenow. Senator Stabenow was the deciding vote in favor of Obamacare and a supporter of Obama’s stimulus spending,” said Bouchard.
Schuette defended Moolenaar’s record, saying: "I know Mid-Michigan and had the privilege of serving as your Congressman. I also know John Moolenaar. John is a proven, trusted, honest conservative who voted against Obamacare, even against his own party leadership. He did what was right.
This community has always rejected negative campaigning. Paul Mitchell should stop the misleading attacks. We need proven conservative leaders who understand Mid-Michigan to represent us in Congress, like John Moolenaar."
“In spite of my opponent’s attempts to mislead the voters, it is clear that I am the proven conservative with a record of balancing budgets, paying down debt and leading the fight against Obamacare in Michigan. I am honored by the support of these conservative leaders, as well as the activist throughout the district who are working tirelessly to defeat a campaign based on lies and half-truths,” Moolenaar said.
“Having voted against more than $5 billion in tax increases in Michigan, I intend to cut taxes and spending at the federal level to get our debt under control. We all agree, Washington is broken and we need to send proven conservatives to fix it. We have the momentum and together we are going to win this campaign.”
John Moolenaar is running to succeed Congressman Dave Camp as the representative for Michigan's Fourth Congressional District. He has also been endorsed by Congressman Dave Camp, Tea Party Express, Right to Life of Michigan, Michigan Farm Bureau and the Michigan Chamber of Commerce. Moolenaar has worked in the public and private sector to improve the business climate and attract jobs to Michigan.
Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard has served as a state representative and senator. He was also a candidate for U.S. Senate in 2006 against Debbie Stabenow. Currently, Sheriff Bouchard leads one of the largest sheriff’s offices in the country, with 1,200 employees and an operating budget of more than $140 million.
