CADILLAC — A downstate visitor dropped by to show his support for one of three Republican candidates vying for Dave Camp's soon-to-be-open congressional seat: Attorney General Bill Schuette was in town supporting fellow Midland resident John Moolenaar. Schuette held the 4th Congressional District seat from 1985 to 1991.
Moolenaar will face fellow Republicans Peter Konetchy of Roscommon and Paul Mitchell of Saginaw on Aug. 5. He currently is a state senator for the 36th District. Jeff Holmes of Alma is the lone Democrat to file for the race.
Moolenaar was in Cadillac Thursday after attending the Cadillac Area Chamber of Commerce annual meeting and awards dinner Wednesday night.
