Fourteen years ago today, terrorists struck at the very heart of America, killing 2,977 people in New York, at the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania. One of the strongest memories I carry with me out of that terrible day and the sad days that followed, was of the resolve of the American people.
Our resolve to defeat terrorism wherever and whenever it is encountered and our resolve to do all we can to make certain that our nation would not be attacked again.
Today, as we pause to remember and pray for the victims of September 11, 2001, and their families, let’s also offer a prayer of thanks for the brave men and women of our military, who sacrifice so much to ensure our continued safety and our freedom.
